SUBJECT: Petition from Yomitan Village
TO: The Governor
Okinawa Gunto Government
1. Returned herewith is the petition presented by you on behalf of the residents of Yomitan Village.
2. This petition is hereby denied.
3. Investgation discloses that other areas in the vicinty of this village area available for resettlement of residents required to move. The Mayor of the village has been assisted by the resettlement office of this headquarters in locating new sites, and he is familiar with the area which are available.
4. Assistance will be given is drilling wells in the new areas by providing funds from the FY 52 resettlement funds. However, before such wells are drilled, the Mayor is required to consult with Mr. Paul Goto, Resettlement Office, for the purpose of obtaining approval for the expenditure of such funds.
