SUBJECT: Clearance of Crops, Nike Range Facility, Yomitan Son

TO: Chief Executive
Government of the Ryukyu Islands

1. Forwarded herewith is an overlay showing the areas crosshatched in red which will be required for construction and must be cleared of crops prior to 5 December 1958.

2. A field inspection of these areas was made on 23 October 1958 by representatives of this office, the military, and Yomitan Son officials. The areas which are required for construction are located within the ACAN Receiver Station, Yomitan Son. According to the Yomitan Son landman, existing crops can be harvested prior to the clearance date. Further, the required areas will be staked by the District Engineer for easy identification.

3. It would be appreciated if you would formally advise the Mayor of Yomitan Son of this clearance requirement.
