SUBJECT: Crop Clearance, POL Right-of-Way-Yomitan Son
TO: Chief Executive
Government of the Ryukyu Islands
1. Forwarded herewith is an overlay with a POL right-of-way outlined in red within which removal of buried POL pipelines will begin on 12 July 1958.
2. Crops exist along the portion of the right-of-way shaded in green. A Ryukyuan building also exists as indicated in brown, partially within the right-of-way. Removal of the building will not be required by the military; however, during a field inspection conducted on 12 June 1958 by representatives of this office, Yomitan Son, and the military, the owner was advised that although care will be taken to prevent any damage to his structure, the United States Government cannot be held responsible for payment of any damages to the building.
3. It would be appreciated if you would formally advise the Mayor of Yomitan Son of this clearance requirement.
