SUBJECT: Petition for Release of Land (Yomitan Son)

TO: Chief Executive
Government of the Ryukyu Islands

1. Reference:
a. Letter GRI-LA(L)-153 dated 4 April 1958, subject as above.
b. USCAR letter of 3 October 1957, subject: “equest for Release of Land Yomitan Son.”
2. This office has been advised by the using agency that they regret they cannot consider the release of any portion of the area referred to in your letter of reference 1a above, either now or in the future.

3. The Air Force advises that the reasons they must retain subject area are identical to those stated in reference 1b.

4. It would be appreciated if you would so advise the officials of Yomitan Son and the landowners concerned that favorable consideration cannot be given to the release of the land in question.
