SUBJECT: Survey and Soil Investigation, Sobe Annex (Yomitan Son)

TO: Chief Executive
Government of the Ryukyu Islands

1. We wish to advise you that survey and soil investigation operations will be conducted in subject area on or after 9 June 1958. Very little, if any, damage to existing crops is anticipated. The people fariming in this area can either harvest or otherwise clear their crops, defer any planting of new crops until after completion of the soil investigation work, or leave their crops in place; whatever plan they follow will be satisfactory to the using agency.

2. Our representative has informally advised the Yomitan Son officials of the intended use of subject area. It would be appreciated if you would formally notify the Yomitan Son officials and the landowners concerned of the proposed use of subject area.
