SUBJECT: Petition Against Single Payment – Yomitan Son

TO: Chief Executive
Government of the Ryukyu Islands

1. Reference is made to your letter, GRI-LA(L)-133, dated 26 March 1958, subject as above.

2. On 17 March 1958, the United States Government filed Declaration of Taking 150 thereby acquiring a determinable estate interest in Nike Site No.1, Yomitan Son.

3. It would be appreciated if you would advise Mayor Iha and the petitioners that there is no difference in the use of the land by the people under either a leasehold interest or determinable estate interest, the only change is in the method of payment. Upon transfer of the property to a determinable estate interest, the title of the property continues to remain in the landowner.
